Self-Evaluation

1. What strengths did you bring to your mentorship/internship?
I brought a strong work ethic, leadership and management skills, and a passion for working with kids and sports.

2. What were your major weaknesses?  What personal qualities could you have improved during your experience?
One of my major weaknesses is my interpersonal skills and lack of experience in the civilian work environment. The personal quality I could have improved upon during my experience is my decision-making abilities.

3. Do you feel you adequately satisfied the duties expected of you by the sponsoring organization?  Why or why not?
I do feel I adequately satisfied the duties expected of me by the Clay High School Athletic Director. He seems pleased with what I have done for the organization and has agreed to hire me to continue helping with game management.

4.  Do you feel you adequately satisfied the time requirements (150/200 clock hours) of the internship?
At first, I felt that 200 hours was a little bit much, but now that I am at the end, there are more things that I know that I could have done given more time.

5.  What helpful suggestions would you make to future interns/mentees in your position?
There are several moving pieces in the athletic department. I would suggest getting into as much as you can to gain the most from the experience.

6.  What did you gain from your experience?  How will this experience help you when you leave Tiffin University?

I learned how to work in an office setting, increased my interpersonal skills, and gained a better understanding of the position of High School Athletic Director. While I may not have gained enough experience to take over the job tomorrow, I know what things I can further dive into upon graduation.

7.  What overall grade do you feel you earned through your mentorship/internship experience?  95%  Justify your response.

There were times when my decision-making was not the best, but I feel I provided assistance in several areas to better the entire department. There was never a time when I said no. Even the tasks that seemed minuscule, I tackled with vigor and determination.
